Social Media Marketing - 3 strategies for growing your business.


Social media marketing in a nutshell is a way to promote your business online using social networks and channels. Social Media marketing is proving to be the most powerful way to build your brand, gain social creditability, and make money.

Keeping this in mind, listed below are 3 ways to use social media marketing to grow your business.

1. Blogging is a very strong way to combine various forms of social media marketing all in one place. If you do not have a blog you are losing ground to your competitors who do.

2. Social Bookmark your blog posts to create traffic from social directories and as search engine bait for search engine traffic. Be sure and use a quality blogging platform such as blogger.com.Social bookmarking gives you a way to get links back to your blog very quickly & gain social creditability. You should be bookmarking to social directories such as Technorati, Digg, and Stumbleupon.

3. Video sharing sites such as YouTube are becoming a favorite way for bloggers to
add some excitement to their blogs, but it is also much more than that. Many bloggers are also easily creating videos and putting them online on their blog. This is a very powerful form of social media that is giving your visitor what they want. Many people are a product of the TV generation and like to learn by watching as opposed to reading.

The bottom line is making money online & offline via social media marketing all comes down to you educating yourself about the social media, investing educational materials and taking action every single day to impliment a social media tactic.

Traffic Generation strategies for Business Owners

All website owners know that you must have traffic to generate sales.

However, not just any traffic will do. The best is targeted traffic.

Targeted traffic involves enticing visitors to your site who are actually interested in the content of your website. If people are interested in buying live turkeys they will find websites about buying live turkeys interesting.

There are a number of methods for obtaining targeted traffic.

1. Reciprocal Linking - For most product websites there are usually many other related websites which aren't direct competitors. You can contact the owners of these websites to ask for a reciprocal link.

2. E-zines - E-zines are ideal because the readership is targeted. One things I have done gone to an Ezine directory and asked people who have ezine related to my topic to publish my articles in their Ezines. No all agreed...But some did. By doing this I was able to gain targeted traffic to my site.

3. Newsletters - As well as using other web owners e-zines, you should consider starting your own newsletter. In this way, you can build up your own list of targeted people and when the size of the list grows you can start selling your own advertising as well.

4. E-books - People like to receive things for free. You can give away e-books which contain useful information and are valued (and read). The trick is to include links back to your site where they can opt-in to your newsletter for more information.

5. Joint ventures - Successful internet marketers are always on the look-out for new opportunities. If you have a good product which converts well, don't be shy in contacting them to offer a joint venture.

6. PPC - Pay per click will cost you money, but it is the quickest way to get targeted traffic. If you write your ads well and select your keywords carefully making sure to include negative keywords, such as 'free', you can end up with a positive return on investment.

By applying a number of these techniques you can increase your level of targeted traffic which, in turn, can increase the profitability of your website & Business.
